AUGUSTUS, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), AE as, Rome mint, issued 7 B.C. by M. Maecilius Tullus, (10.52 g), obv. bare head to right of Augustus around [CAESAR AV]GVST PONT MAX TRIBVNIC [POT], rev. M MAECILIVS TVLLVS III VIR A A A F F around large SC, (S.1684, RIC 435, C.448, CBN 483). Brown patina, with a good portrait of Augustus, off centred, otherwise very fine and scarce.
