TIBERIUS, (A.D. 14-37), silver denarius, Lugdunum mint, issued A.D. 14-37, (3.63 g), obv. laureate head of Tiberius to right, around TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVSTVS, rev. PONTIF MAXIM, Livia (as Pax) seated to right on chair with plain legs, holding vertical sceptre and branch, double line below, (S.1763, RIC 26, BMC 48, RSC 16). Lightly toned, nearly extremely fine and of fine style.

Of Biblical importance as the issue is often described as the Tribute Penny (Mark 12: 14-17).
