ANTONINUS PIUS, (A.D. 138-161), AE dupondius, (12.98 g), Rome mint, issued A.D. 156-7, obv. radiate head of Antoninus Pius to right, around ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P IMP II, rev. around TR POT XX COS III, Providentia standing left, pointing at globe at foot left and holding sceptre, S C across field, (S.-, RIC 970, C.1012). Attractive dark chocolate toning, good very fine or better and scarce.
