GERMANY, WWII, German Cross in gold, by Otto Klein and Co., light Cupal, maker's mark on reverse '134', five piece construction, correct Klein pattern pin and 'C' catch to the reverse along with the trademark wreath date exhibited by Klein and Zimmerman crosses. With original fitted case of issue.

The German Cross in gold was instituted on 28 September 1941 and was awarded for repeated acts of bravery or achievement in combat. Textbook example, see pps 214-222 of The German Cross by Maerz, 2009.
