Lot 2548    Session 9 (4:30pm Wednesday)    Military Chits

Estimate $80
Bid at live.noble.com.au
SOLD $90

AUSTRALIA, Townsville, WWII, Catheringa Park Officers' Club, chits for sixpence and for threepence. The first with small pinhole, paper thin areas and rust marks on reverse and both with small piece missing from one corner, otherwise very good - very fine and scarce. (2)

Camp Cutheringa Park was a WWII military camp at West End in Townsville. The Americans mis-spelt the name of the camp as Catheringa Park, as evidenced by a listing under that name in their 1944 AFPO directory.
