ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.400-350 B.C.), silver stater, (7.36 g), obv. head of female to right, the hair is held bound by a sphendone or sakkos, rev. corn ear, **METAP to left, stalk to right, **LU above stalk, (cf.S.409, Noe [NN&M 47, 1984] 497, SNG Cop. 1203 [same dies]). Very fine and very scarce.
