SYRIA, Antioch, Roman Provincial coinage under Nero (54-68 A.D.), AE 30mm,(15.22 g), obv, around IM NER CLAV - CAESAR, laureate head right, in front, lituus, dotted border, rev. SC in laurel wreath, dotted border, (cf.S.619, RPC 4307, SNG Cop 158, BMC 177-8, Butcher 125). Dark green patina, of exceptional condition, nearly extremely fine and rare as such.

Ex Dr. V.J.A. Flynn Collection and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 109 (lot 3660), previously from Baldwin's Auction Ltd, London, (Auction 47), September 25, 2006 (lot 143).
