SYRIA, Seleucis & Pieria, Antiochia ad Orontem (Antioch), Herennius Etruscus, son of Trajan Decius (A.D. 251), billon tetradrachm, (12.01 g), obv. bare headed draped bust of Herennius Etruscus to right, around EPENN ETPOV ME KV **D*EKIOC KECAP, two dots below, rev. eagle standing to right, standing on palm branch, around **DHMARC EX*OVCIAC, SC in exergue, (S.4282, McAlee 1152b, Prieur 631). Partially silvered good very fine and scarce.
Ex Dr. V.J.A. Flynn Collection and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 106 (lot 3426) and previously from the Gordon Parry Collection and Malter Galleries, Auction Sale 72, November 23, 1997 (lot 498), with ticket and packet.
