MEMORIAL PLAQUE WWI, named to Albert William Cook. Cleaned, small pierced hole at top, left side and right side edges for mounting, otherwise very fine.

Together with photo of Tpr A.W.Cook in uniform; photos of the Camel Corps unit and information on the Jerusalem Memorial, the Australian War Memorial details of A.W.Cook, with multiples, all laminated.

Albert William Cook, estate agent, age 24, born at Box Hill, Vic; educated at New College, Box Hill; Enl.31Jul1915 at Melbourne, Vic with previous service of 3 years with School Cadets and 2 years with 5 Sqn 10LHR; Emb.27Jan1916 with 14th Refts 8LHR; TOS 3rd Res Rgt 06Mar1916; TOS 3rd Double Sqn 01Jul1916 and to be Temp/Cpl; to Temp/Sgt 25Jul1916; TOS Aust Tng Camel Rgt 02Nov1916 and reverts to ranks; TOS ICC 07Feb1917; to 3rd Coy 1st Bn Imperial Camel Bde 24Feb1917; WIA and missing near Gaza, Palestine 19Apr1917 later altered to KIA with No.3 Coy, 1st Anzac Bn, Imperial Camel Brigade; commemorated at Jerusalem War Memorial Cemetery.
