ROMAN, 1st-3rd century A.D., cast bronze applique of Diana/Artemis, depicting the bust of the goddess facing slightly right with elaborate headdress, hand punched and chased with designs after casting, (80mm high, 55mm wide). Attractively toned, very fine and scarce.

Ex Time Machine USA, February 2007, with collector's ticket.

This bronze applique was most likely a decorative element attached to a piece of Roman furniture.
