HONORIUS, (A.D. 393-423), gold solidus, issued at Constantinople mint in A.D. 397-402, (4.24 g), obv. helmeted bust to half right with elaborate dress, holding shield and spear over shoulder, around DN HONORI VS P F AVG, rev. Constantinopolis enthroned facing head right, holding sceptre and Victory, star in left field, around CONCORDI A AVGGGH, in exergue CONOB, (S.20899, RIC 8). Scratches in reverse field, otherwise good very fine and rare.
