ANASTASIUS I, (491-518), gold solidus, issue of 491-498, Constantinople mint, (4.35 g), obv. helmeted and cuirassed bust three-quarter face to right, holding spear and shield, around DN ANASTA SIVS PP AVC, rev. Angel standing holding long cross, around VICTORI A AVCCCH exergue CONOB, star in left field, (S.3, DOC 7h, T.7, R.319). As struck, file mark on edge, extremely fine and rare in this condition.
