CARIA, Carian Islands, Rhodes, (c.125-88 B.C.), silver drachm, `Plinthophoric' coinage, Diognetos, magistrate, (3.25 g), obv. radiate head of Helios to right, hair loose, rev. P O either side of rose with bud on right, to left a bunch of grapes, above magistrate **DIOGNHTO*, (cf.S.5064, Jenkins Rhodian Group D, 111 var, SNG Cop -). Bright, as struck, good extremely fine and rare.

Ex Brian Bolton Collection and previously Status International, lot 8380 with tickets.
