JEFFERY HALL VAD HOSPITAL SUNDERLAND MEDAL, - brooch bar - 1914-19. W.Young. Engraved. Loop fitting missing from back of brooch bar, otherwise good very fine and scarce.

Jeffery Hall at Monkwearmouth, Sunderland, England was a church hall used as a VAD auxiliary hospital during WWI jointly by the British Red Cross and the Order of St John. The committee was ordered to raise Voluntary Aid Detachments trained in first aid and nursing. Jeffery Hall was run by the 4th Durham VA Hospital Unit. The hall has since been demolished.
