TRIO: Queen's South Africa Medal 1899, - three clasps - Cape Colony, Orange Free State, South Africa 1902; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 5759 Pte F.Bennett Glouc. Regt. on first medal, 3287 F.A.Bennett 1-Pnr. Bn. A.I.F. on last two medals. Impressed.; also Memorial Plaque WWI named to Frederick Albert Bennett and a Mother's and Widow's Ribbon (AIF). All mounted in a timber frame under perspex together with a photo of Pte Bennett and plaque recording Bennett's details, extremely fine.

Note: Recorded on service file, 'Stated to be Beament, F.A. Circular Form 'A' 17/1/21'. However, there are letters in file from the widow who refers to herself as Mrs Bennett and records from Gloucestershire Regt show him as Bennett.

Frederick Albert Bennett, storeman, age 31, born at London, England; Enl.27Sep1915 at Brisbane, Qld with previous service of 8 years with Gloucestershire Regt, including service in St Helena, South Africa and India, and 4 years in Reserves; Emb.30Dec1915; to 9 Bn 28Feb1916; Trf to 1 Pnr Bn 11Mar1916; to Cpl 16Mar1916; WIA 30Sep1916 GSW right thigh (severe) France; KIA 05Oct1917 at Belgium; Buried at Pill box (Area Commandant) and A.D.S. Westhoeck Ridge, 3 miles east of Ypres; name recorded on Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, Belgium.
