NERO, (A.D. 54-68), AE sestertius issued c.66, Rome mint, (20.88 g), obv. laureate head to left of Nero, globe at point of bust, around IMP NERO CAESAR AVG PONT MAX TR POT P P, rev. Roma seated left on cuirass, holding Victory and parazonium, ROMA in exergue, S C across field, (S.1961, RIC 517, WCN 451, BMC 328). Attractive dark patination, good very fine with an strong portrait, rare in this condition.
