MEMORIAL PLAQUE WWI, named to George Hector McKenzie. Extremely fine.

49201 Lance Corporal G.H.McKenzie, 22Bn, Manchester Regt, KIA 04Oct1917 at Battle of Broodseinde Ridge; Buried at Buttes New British Cemetery, Polygon Wood, Zonnebeke, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. The 1st and 2nd Anzacs were the main attacking group at this battle with their right flank supported by the 7th Div including 21st and 22nd Bns of Manchester Regt.

Note: There was a George Hector MacKenzie serving with 32Bn AIF KIA 20Jul1916 but his surname is spelt Mac not Mc.
