GAIUS, (Caligula), (A.D. 37-41), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 37-38, (20.67 g), obv. Caligula laureate head to left, around C CAESAR AVG GERMANICVS PON M TR POT, dotted border, rev. AGRIPPINA DRVSILLA IVLIA, S C in exergue, the three sisters of Caligula, (S.1800, RIC 33, C.4). Very rough porous surface from corrosion, orichalcum metal, otherwise good fine and rare.
