OTTOMAN EMPIRE, late 19th century, very fine pair of swords comprising a silver mounted yataghan and a silver mounted bichaq short sword, the blades of both items forged from very fine pattern welded steel in the pattern known as 'Turkish Ribbon', with finely chased silver handles and silver scabbards, blades 56cm and 26cm and total length with scabbards 81cm and 41cm. Good very fine and a very rare set. (2)

Note: Licence to own required in State of Victoria, Australia.
