QUEEN'S SOUTH AFRICA MEDAL 1899, (type 2 reverse with very faint ghost date), - four clasps - Cape Colony, Transvaal, Wittebergen, South Africa 1901. Tpr. G. A. Gross Brabants Horse. Impressed. A few very small scratches, otherwise toned very fine.

Also entitled to King's South Africa Medal with clasp South Africa 1901.

George Augustus Gross, Department Manager and Salesman, born 1879 at Newcastle NSW; Enl.19Jun1900 at Queenstown, South Africa in A Sqn 1st Brabants Horse; served in ops against the Boers near Reitzburg and on the Basuto Border to Bethlehem and across the Vaal Aug1900 and to South West Cape Colony; Disch.09Feb1901 at Cape Town; Died 1946.
