GEORGE V, Royal Mint, London, pattern shilling, 1933, rev. depicts a kiwi within inner circle, (KM.PN.3). A most attractive proof striking lightly toned, FDC and excessively rare, only one other known in private hands (Spink Noble Sale 42, lot 1838, Edwards Metcalf Collection, lot 7229, Seaby and Margolis).

Ex. S.V. Hagley Collection, tender sale, 1969, and Spink Australia Sale 27 (lot 1711). $$ A letter from Hagley states that he obtained the coin from the Mint Master in London in 1933 and that only two were struck in silver to test the dies.
