COMMERCIAL BANK OF AUSTRALIA LIMITED, second issue, one pound, Wellington, 1st January 1919, No. A 050700, imprint of Waterlow & Sons Limited, London Wall, London. E.C., (L.481, P.S278 [note actually blue with yellow and purple interior/brown, not purple as described in both references]). Two light folds, two minor ink marks on back, otherwise extremely fine and rare.

Ex. Spink Australia sale 31 (lot 758). This is only two numbers away from a similar note in the Amon Carter Collection (lot 1195). These were originally in a group of four sold by Spink Australia privately in 1976. They had been kept in a jam jar in a deceased estate trunk.
