SOUTH AUSTRALIAN RAILWAYS, member of Parliament pass in gold (21mm 7.86grams) by Stokes & Martin, reverse inscribed 'A. Granger/M.P.' Good fine and very rare.

Ex Glendining Sale May 1764 (lot 336) and Spink Australia Sale 33 (lot 2635). Grainger, Henry William Alberdale (1848-1923) politician, journalist and stockbroker, ran the Australia Star from 1877 in Adelaide in which he advocated protection. Later he was involved in several W.A. gold mining companies. He died in England in 1923.
