JULIUS CAESAR, (100-44 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.74 grams), issued 44 B.C., obv. Laureate and veiled head of Julius Caesar to r., around CAESAR [DICT PERPETVO], rev. Venus standing to l., holding Victory and sceptre with shield at base, around, [P. SE]PVLLIVS MACER, (Cr. 480/12, Cohen 39, BMC 4173-5, Syd. 1074, S.362). Weak in places, with flat areas, portrait in high relief, very fine and rare.
