MADRAS PRESIDENCY, Fort St. David or Tegnapatam, copper cash, c. 1740, inscribed in Tamil either side, 'Honourable' on obverse and 'Company' on reverse, (Pr. 289, KM. 378). Very fine and excessively rare.

Ex. Spink & Son, London, Numismatic Circular September 1976 (7895). $$ The Pridmore specimen described as fine and excessively rare (lot 419) realised Å“150.
