HENRY I, (1100-1135), silver penny, facing bust with quatrefoils with piles reverse, Br.VII, BMC VII, London mint, moneyer Sperlig, rev. SPERLIC [O]N LVN., (S.1268, N.863, moneyer not in BMC for type). Usual nick in edge, round, weakly struck, nearly fine, extremely rare.

Ex. Dr. Brian Bird collection, Glendinning/Spink & Son London, Sale 20th November 1974 (lot 289). The lot comes with a ticket by F. Elmore Jones but apparently not from his collection.
