BOMBAY PRESIDENCY, Malabar Coast, c. 1775-1800, copper double pice (?) with balemark on either side, (Pr. 300, KM.-). Thick dumpy flan, very fine and rare.

Ex Glendining's 1964 and Colin E. Pitchfork Collection, Noble Numismatics Sale 48 (lot 2119). This issue is not recorded in KM, or by Atkins, but is listed by Thurston (1890, p.111). Somewhat better centred than the Pridmore specimen, which realised £130 in his sale in 1982 (illustrated and lot 544).
