BRITISH INDIA, Mughal Governor Issues, for Akbarabad (Agra) under John William Hessing, Governor of Agra, in the name of Shah Alam II (A.H. 1173-1221, A.D. 1759-1806), copper paisa, obv. [J]WH over regnal year 42, rev. A.H. 12[16] (A.D. 1801-2), (Valentine 46, KM. 549.1). Very fine and very rare.

Ex Glendining's 1964 and Colin E. Pitchfork Collection, Noble Numismatics Sale 48 (lot 2171). The English letters JWH on the reverse are the initials of the British Governor of Agra, John William Hessing.
