BRITISH - MUGHAL GOVERNOR ISSUES, for Akbarabad (Agra) under John William Hessing, Governor of Agra, in the name of Shah Alam II (A.H. 1173-1221, A.D. 1759-1806), copper paisa, obv. [J]WH over regnal year 43, rev. A.H. 1216 (A.D. 1801-2), (cf. Valentine 46, KM. 549.1). Good very fine and extremely rare.
Ex Glendining's 1964 and Colin E. Pitchfork Collection, Noble Numismatics Sale 48 (lot 2172). See previous lot, this specimen confirms the date (A.H. 1216) as associated with regnal year 43, previously unpublished.
