SICILY, Syracuse, end of second democracy and Dionysos I, (c.405 B.C.), AE 17, (4.824 grams), obv. head of Arethusa to left, trace of E behind, rev. quadripartite incuse square, at centre incuse circle containing a star, (S.1185, BMC 242, SNG Lloyd 1426-7, SNG ANS 398-402). Brown patina, nearly very fine/very fine and scarce.
