THE 'CANTATA' MEDAL, 1885, in silver (25.5mm) inscribed on reverse 'In Memory of / K.Riordan / 17.8.85'. Holed at top, nearly very fine.

It is thought eight hundred of these medals were struck by the Melbourne Mint for the choristers at the Melbourne International Exhibition 1880-81. See 'Medals of the Melbourne International Exhibitions' by John Sharples, 1996.
