John Carre Riddell (1809-1879). Member Legislative Assembly 1860-77, large landholder in Gisborne District,

Victoria. President of the Melbourne Club in 1852. Township of Riddell was named after him. One of the original

Caulfield landowners, built 'Cavers Carre' in Elsternwick in 1866.
