GEORGE II, (Sir Andrew) Andreas Fountaine, mintmaster, 1745, in copper, 56mm, by J.A. Dassier, (MI ii, 236; Eimer 590, Forrer p.511 [noted as 1744 in error, copying MI]). Extremely fine.

One of Dassier's series of thirteen medals of illustrious men. They were sold as a set by subscription for four guineas or singly at 7s.6d each. Sir Andrew Fountaine was Warden of the Mint from 1727 until his death in 1753.
