HENRY III, (1216-1272), sterling silver imitation penny, long cross issue, imitating class 5, (1.31 grams), issued post 1250, copying a Henri of uncertain mint (London?) penny, obv. hENRICVS REX III', rev. hRE/RID/ONE/LOV, (cf.S.1367, BNJ 1966 (p.89) J.J. North No.59, Pl.6 [This Coin], Westfalische Auktion lot No.74 [This Coin]). Toned, very fine and rare.

The reverse legend is die linked to an Irish obverse [BH 59 {Brussels Hoard}], Carson, Mint, Dies and Currency paper by Dolley and W.Seaby.
