HENRY III, (1216-1272), sterling silver imitation obverse brockage of a penny as a sterling, long cross issue, imitating class 5, (1.22 grams), issued post 1250, obv. hENRICVS REX III', rev. incuse version of the obverse, (cf.S.1367, BNJ 1966 (p.93) J.J. North No.135, Pl.8 [This Coin], Westfalische Auktion lot No.108 [This Coin]). Toned, very fine and rare.

North comments on this coin that this obverse brockage has a portrait resembling that on some coins of Lippe especially in the treatment of the beard (see BNJ p.113).
