THE COPLEY MEDAL, in bronze (43mm)(Klenman 2). Extremely fine and rare.

Baronet Godfrey Copley instituted this medal which was awarded annually from 1736. A gold example was awarded by the Royal Society of London to Captain James Cook R.N.
