U.S.A., P.T. Barnum's American Museum, New York 1862, in white metal (38mm). Nearly uncirculated.

Barnum Museum was very historic and located in lower Manhattan at B'way & Park Row (across from St. Paul's, near City Hall). The interesting obverse inscription reads: "This immense establishment contains 500,000 curiousities, including birds, beasts, insects, fossils, minerals, marine specimens, Indian implements, suits of armour, statuary, medals, coins, paintings, rare enravings, Grand cosmorama, Aerial Garden & Lecture room in which rich, diversified and talented entertainments are given, unsurpassed in the world. Admission to the whole 25 cents" This museum was known to contain choice exotic Polynesian and other Oceanic artifacts. Rulau.NYNY11.
