MADRAS PRESIDENCY, Indian Style Coinage, Hindu System, gold star pagoda, c.1740-1807, struck at Madras mint, obv. crude half standing figure of a deity, rev. five pointed star within dotted borders, (Pr. 9, KM. 303). Extremely fine, scarce. SS See note above. This coin type was proclaimed as coinage by Gov. King in 1800 in New South Wales.
