FRANCE, Louis XV, revenge for Alsatia, 1744, in bronze (41mm) obverse, head of Louis XV right, reverse, soldier wearing laurel wreath, cherub at right holding palm branch, wreath and keys, female at left dropping petals in his path, shield behind her, around top, "Vindix Alsatiae", in exergue, "Signis A Scaldi / Ad Rhenum Conversis / M.DCC.XLIV." Weak strike of "LUD" in obverse legend, inked number in reverse field, extremely fine.
