SWITZERLAND, Zurich, silver medal commemorating Zurich and its Bailiwicks, City and Canton. 1714, by Hans Jacob Gessner (1706-1770), silver medal 52mm, obv. facing liuons on shield, around RESPVBLICA TIGVRIANA, rev. various arms of cantons etc around centre inscribed NUMINE/PROPITIO/ PATRIA FLORET, arms of the 43 baillwicks, (South Kensington Swiss Collection No.3 [p.565-6]). Nearly extremely fine, scarce.

A father and son pair of die-sinkers from Zurich. This an issue by the father.
