PERSIA - LYDIA, Achaemenid Empire, Persian Imperial Coinage (c.485-420 B.C.), struck in period of Darios I - Xerxes I, gold daric, (8.24 grams), obv. bearded archer (king?) running to the right with transverse spear over shoulder, and bow in right hand, rev. oblong punch, (S.4679, Carradice type IIIb (early), Group A/B, nos.27, Pl.XIII, BMC Arabia Pl.XXIV, 26, SNG Cop. 274). Softly struck, nearly very fine, scarce.
