VALENTINIAN I (A.D. 364-375), gold solidus, Antioch mint, issued 364-367, Officina E, (4.062 grams), obv. pearl diademed, draped and cuirassed bust to right of Valentinian I around DN VALENTINI ANVS PF AVG, rev. Valentinian standing facing head to right, holding labarum with cross symbol and Victory, RESTITVTOR REIPVBLICAE around, .ANT**G*star, in exergue, (cf.S.4088, RIC 2a). Has been in ring mount, with surface scratches, otherwise good fine.
