PHOCAS, (602-610), gold solidus, (4.26 grams), struck at Constantinople mint, Officina I, issued 603-607, obv. crowned facing bust holding cross, rev. Angel standing to left holding P headed cross, and globe supporting a cross, (S.618, DOC 5j.1). Appears to have been removed from jewelery, otherwise nearly very fine and scarce.

Ex Ted Murphy Collection and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 44 (lot 1272).
