HERACLIUS, (610-641), light weight gold solidus, issued 611-613, Constantinople mint, (4.24 grams), obv. crowned and cuirassed bust facing, with short beard, holding cross, star in field to right, rev. Cross potent on three steps, star in field to right, (S.772, DOC 5a). Large but slightly bent flan, extremely fine with mint bloom and very rare.

Ex Ted Murphy Collection and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 45 (lot 4265).
