ALEXIUS I, (1081-1118), gold histamenon nomisma, (4.32 grams), struck at Constantinople mint, scyphate flan, Pre-Reform coinage, 1081-1092, obv. Christ enthroned facing, with nimbus, rev. Alexius I bust facing bearded wearing loros, in right hand labarum with X on shaft, and in left hand cross on globe, double border, (S.1892, H. Pl.1, 5). Large flan, cracked flan, good very fine/very fine and scarce.

Ex Ted Murphy Collection and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 44 (lot 1291).
