PALESTINE, Judaea, Second Revolt or Bar Cochba War, (A.D. 132-135), silver denarius or zuz, (2.268 grams), undated, but probably year 3 = A.D. 134-5, obv. 'Shim`on' within wreath, around triform bunch of grapes, border of dots, rev. legend `For the Freedom of Jerusalem' jug and palm branch, all within a border of dots, (S.5653; Mildenberg No.194 obv. die 24, rev. die 125 with 36 examples cited for this die combination, AJC 68 [p.275], H.732). Slightly off centred and overstruck, otherwise nearly extremely fine and rare.
