L. PAPIUS, (c.79 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.886 grams), obv. Juno Sospita head to right, wearing goat's skin, standard behind, rev. Gryphon prancing to right, bar with supports below, L PAPI in exergue, (S.311 [£175 EF], Cr.384/1, Syd.773, B.Papia 1). Serrated, extremely fine and very scarce.
