PESCENNIUS NIGER, (A.D. 193-194), silver denarius, Caesarea mint, issued A.D. 193, (2.416 grams), obv. laureate head of Pescennius Niger to right, around IMP CAES PESC NIGER IVST AVG, rev. around VIC T O RIAAE AVG (sic), Victory standing to left inscribing AVG on shield attached to trophy, (S.6127, cf.RIC 85, BMC 316, RSC 73a var.). Nearly extremely fine/good very fine and extremely rare, a reverse variant as an unpublished legend.

The Reka Devnia hoard contained no examples of this ruler.
