GORDIAN III, (A.D. 238-244), silver antoninianii, Rome mint, issued 240, obv. radiate bust right, around IMP CAES M ANT GORDIANVS AVG, rev. PM TR P II COS P P, around, Gordian standing to left sacrificing over altar from patera and holding wand, (S.2449, RIC 37, RSC 210) (5), others (3), similar obverses but IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, all with rev. PM TR P III COS II P P, one with Gordian walking right, with spear and globe, (S.2453, RIC 92, RSC 253) (1); others (2) Apollo seated to left holding branch, (S.2451, RIC 87, RSC 237). Most with green surface oxidation, otherwise very fine or better. (8)
