ELIZABETH II, Australian Antarctic Polar Series, proof gold plated silver five dollars, 2009. In case of issue with RAM certificate and separate Royal Society of Victoria certificate 83 of only 500 commissioned, FDC.

The gold plated silver version of this coin was commissioned by the Royal Society of Victoria to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first party to locate the South Magnetic Pole. Only 500 were ordered from the Royal Australian Mint.
